Elisabeth Carlsson

Elisabeth Carlsson is a Swedish functional nutritionist, author, and educator specialising in wellness and natural health. She is best known for her books The Lagom Life: A Swedish Way of Living (2017) and The Book of Nordic Self-Care (2023).

Born and raised on a farm in Sweden, Elisabeth Carlsson developed a deep appreciation for nature and its role in health and well-being. "The simple rituals around seasonal foods and the power of nature are now woven into my approach to nutrition and health," she explains. This upbringing inspired her belief in a back-to-basics approach to wellness.

Carlsson received her diploma in naturopathic nutrition from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London in 2016. She has also completed Kendra Perry's Hair Test Mineral Analysis Expert course and is a member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners. The same year, she founded Elisabeth Carlsson Nutrition to help clients rediscover their vitality through personalised, nature-centred practices.

Before establishing her practice, Carlsson worked as a cookery tutor with Greenwich Healthy Living Services and lectured on health and women's wellness at various events, including the Honor Oak Wellness Rooms.

Her first book, The Lagom Life — A Swedish Way of Living (2017), explored the Swedish philosophy of balance and moderation. It has been translated into several languages, including French, Czech and Russian. Her latest work, The Book of Nordic Self-Care (2023), expands on her philosophy by sharing the secrets of Nordic wellness.

The book begins with wellness practices such as saunas and skin care rituals, emphasising their grounding benefits. Carlsson also highlights Nordic-inspired cooking, focusing on simple flavours and seasonal ingredients as an act of self-care.

Another chapter explores the benefits of cold water therapy and wild swimming, which encourage a connection with nature. Seasonal celebrations and small rituals are central themes, offering readers ways to adapt to their environment and simplify their daily lives.

Elisabeth Carlsson says: "Working in the wellness field, I see how complicated it has become. Staying healthy doesn't have to be a mystery.
