The Brading Collection

Lewis Brading, who is known for his fabulous jewelry collection, tries to hire Maud Silver, a private detective, to find out whether he should be worried about intruders. But she thinks he is playing a dangerous game, keeping his secretary in a job he no longer wants through blackmail, and will have nothing to do with him. When Brading is murdered, his executor and cousin calls on Miss Silver to help find the murderer--especially since the cousin is possibly his heir and definitely a suspect.
