Goals - How they help your self-esteem
Set goals. This helps you chart the path you will follow in your life. If you believe in yourself, you will also reach these goals and progress from one point to another.
Goals - How they help your self-esteem
Goals are a very important aspect of our life. We are rational thinking creatures; we do not live by instinct. That's why we need goals to help us get from one point in our lives to another. When we are in school, our goals might be to achieve a certain grade; when we are in college, our goal might be to get a certain grade to be admitted to a certain professional course; when we are able to work, our goal might be to join a certain organization and so on. We always set goals and try to achieve them.
If you are not setting goals already, you are leading an unplanned life. Your life lacks direction. You are not living; you are simply existing.
You are simply taking life as it comes.
However, a person who has goals in life has a very important benefit. They come to know what they are really worth. If you have set a particular goal for yourself and you achieve it, you know that you are capable of doing it. This makes you more sure of yourself. You now know that this was something you could do and you did it. This isn't just something on your resume; it's something that's engraved in your life - it's become a part of yourself. And it will reinforce the belief you have in yourself.
Consider this. You set a goal of making a hundred thousand in the first three months of your business. When you set the goal, you're just shooting in the dark, whatever factors are influencing your goal setting. But then you actually achieve this accomplishment.
