Clement Clarke Moore (1779–1863) was a professor of literature and theology, and the author of the famous poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” which later became known as the famous “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” The poem was first published anonymously but was later attributed to Moore. Moore’s text greatly contributed to the modern-day Santa Claus story.
Children will love this beautifully illustrated version of the classic Christmas poem, “The Night Before Christmas.”
As St. Nick and eight tiny reindeer descend through a brilliant night sky, the famous Christmas poem begins. St. Nick, inside the house, is unaware, until the toys spill down onto the lawn -- then he turns with a jerk, and sees them. Antique toys and exquisite ornaments frame the borders, in which the father, St.Nick, or the family cat and dog can be found watching the action.
