This is the story of three unlikely friends: Froggie, a lonely frog; Birdie, a baby bird kicked out of its nest, and a bear called Bungler who has problems doing things right. Birdie, just two days old faces dangers from a fox and a pack of nasty rats. Bungler Bear tells how he failed at things and left home as a young cub. Then as grown bear, he returned home to face Kangaroo King in a boxing match, hoping that if he won his father and all the other bears would be proud him. Once more, Bungler has to deal with failure. However, he does succeed in saving Birdie from drowning and they form a strong bond and later are joined by Froggie. They enjoy adventure and each others company; until one day, Bungler is captured and sent to a zoo. How the two small friends rescue the bear is exciting . The story, written in verse, flows pleasingly and easily on the ear. Over twenty wonderful illustrations accompany the text. A story of how friendship helps them overcome challenges and boosts their self confidence.
