Jim Cotter

Jim Cotter has ministered in the Anglican Church for over 40 years, spending much of his time with students in training for ministry and in one-to-one work of counselling and spiritual guidance. He also writes and speaks, and publishes as Cairns Publications, seeking to refresh the prayers and thinking of the Christian tradition, particularly in the areas of liturgy, ministry, healing, and sexuality. In 1976 he was one of the founder members of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement, and in 2009 he published a book called The Service of my Love, resources for commitment and blessing ceremonies. He also founded the Small Pilgrim Places Network, linking together those who care for little used churches and chapels, keeping them open for quiet prayer, simple hospitality, and thoughtful conversation. He pioneered this at Llandecwyn in north-west Wales, and since then has moved to Aberdaron, at the end of the Lleyn Peninsula, as priest-in-charge and welcomer of visitors. He enjoys walking in the hills and by the sea, theatre and music, and talking and eating with friends.
