Ross Burach

Ross Burach is an American author and illustrator. He is the creator of the Very Impatient Caterpillar series, which includes The Very Impatient Caterpillar; The Little Butterfly That Could; Goodnight, Butterfly; and Make Way for Butterfly.

His books have received numerous awards, including the CBC Children’s And Teen Choice Award Finalist, Junior Library Guild Selection, Kirkus Star, IndyNext Select, and many more.

Ross Burach holds a degree in fine arts from the University of Massachusetts. Since graduation, Ross has focused on designing characters and backgrounds for animation studios within children’s media.

Burach has always loved combining words and pictures to create humor and has since found the perfect blend for a career in books for youth. All his works combine humor with curriculum-friendly science topics and relatable social-emotional themes.

Ross's other acclaimed books include the picture book Truck Full of Ducks, the board books I Love My Tutu Too!, Potty All-Star, Hi-Five Farm!, and Hi-Five Animals! (2018), named the best board book of the year by Parents magazine, and the Acorn early reader series Bumble and Bee.

Ross Burach currently lives with his wife and daughter in Brooklyn.
