Eve Chase

Eve Chase is a former British journalist and author known for her novels Black Rabbit Hall and The Wildling Sisters. She also writes under the pseudonym of Polly Williams.

As a child, her literary influences were Judy Blume, Virginia Andrews, and Agatha Christie. Eve Chase studied English Literature at Manchester University. She then completed a postgraduate degree in journalism.

Her early career included editing the fashion magazine Scene and writing for various publications. These included Dazed and Confused, Punch, InStyle, Red, Marie-Claire, and national newspapers.

Black Rabbit Hall (2015) was Chase's debut novel, employing a dual time frame narrative. While this book required less plotting, her subsequent novels involved more detailed planning. The Glass House (2020) deviates from its original outline but maintains its core mystery set in a forest.

Her work often features sprawling, dysfunctional families and a central crime. She aims to create stories that are immersive and fast-paced.

Eve Chase resides in Oxford with her husband and three children. Additionally, she owns a golden retriever named Harry.
