😄HilarischThe book has been in my TBR list for the longest time and I'm so glad I was able to tick it off.
To sum it up, "what the hell was that?"
I initially rated the book as a 3.5 but upon introspection, I realized that it deserves more (slightly higher rating) than that since it made me stop for a moment to make sense of how it ended. I honestly did not expect much with Marcos and pretty much have predicted that he will be using Jasmine to his disposal (as with most characters in the book, one way or another). Nevertheless, while I think the ending was a bit unsatisfactory, it was still in line with the themes being built from the start.

👍De moeite van het lezen waardReading this was a journey. I've read plenty of gore and horror but for some reason this was different. It affected me in ways I DID NOT expect. In a way, the ending was a perfect happy ending..in another way, it was heartbreaking. We thought better of our MC...I guess that's what happens when pain overweights values.
I would have given this a five star, if the second part didn't lack the weight that the first part held. This was so close to being a favourite of mine. I will definitely be reading this again.
