Bradley Bazzle is an American author of the short story collection Fathers of Cambodian Time-Travel Science (2020), a winner of the C&R Press Fiction Award, and the novel Trash Mountain (2018), which won the Red Hen Press Fiction Award, judged by Steve Almond.
Bradley Bazzle was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He studied at Yale, where he wrote obscure plays. Bradley spent several years in New York City, writing and performing sketch comedy with Trophy Dad.
Bradley did graduate work in creative writing at Indiana University (MFA), where his thesis advisor was Tony Ardizzone, and at the University of Georgia (Ph.D.).
Bradley has taught writing at the University of Georgia, Indiana University, IU Lifelong Learning, and the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing.
His first novel, Trash Mountain, won the 2016 Red Hen Press Fiction Award, judged by Steve Almond, and was published in 2018. Trash Mountain revolves around the life of Ben Shippers, a teenager with a unique passion for Trash Mountain, a noxious landfill near his home that is causing harm to his sister's health. After a failed attempt to destroy Trash Mountain, Ben embarks on a mission that takes him through a years-long journey of infiltrating the trash industry.
His short stories have won the Tim McGinnis Award for humor from the Iowa Review, the Jaimy Gordon Prize from Third Coast, and a special mention in Pushcart Prize XLII.
His stories and articles can be found in Colorado Review, New England Review, Epoch, Fiction Daily, Copper Nickel, Beloit Fiction Journal, and Web Conjunctions.
