Ivor Pryce has hidden his fear of abandonment behind the jagged scar on his bicep and a guarded silence, but Trevor Faulkner’s terse commands reach the abandoned line shack at dusk and settle like ownership in his bones. The gunslinger’s palm rests at the small of his back, a steady reminder that discipline will claim more than the ranch they both need.
On the frontier, two men forging such a bond through measured strikes risk everything if the partnership breaks. Trevor’s iron control hides his own solitary ghosts, while Ivor’s quiet obedience threatens to expose the belonging he craves yet dreads losing.
Trevor’s quiet voice orders him to hold still, the first strike suspended in the lantern light, and Ivor wonders if this claiming will anchor them together or cast them both into the isolation they fear most.
