Annabel is the shared wife of two mafia brothers. She chose the role for the security their control provides. The bond holds her in place even when the risk grows.
The brothers place each sealed envelope between them on the desk. Annabel initials the terms first. Then the brothers claim her together in the shadowed office.
The arrangement defies the old families' rules. Any exposure would cost her the belonging she refuses to lose. Annabel has never ended the contract despite the danger. She submits because the loyalty never breaks.
Their hands meet over the unopened envelope as rival footsteps approach.
