This is sad. SAD. But the whole concept of this cafe and time traveling magic is really interesting and the author managed to craft the plot beautifully. I love this. Might want to visit retro underground kissaten when i come to Japan someday.

Time? What is time? How time can changes things in our life. If I had a chance to travel in time, I would definitely do it. I want to go to my past, to change mistakes that I had done in my life. The past mistakes that still haunts me till today. I also want to see my future, where do my present leads me in 10 years from me. Do my master degree even worth it? Do I still have my family, a mother and father that still together. Am I still alive? There are so many question that I want to know the answer. But as this book say, you can't change your past or future. But instead, you cam change your heart. To be strong, to have desire to change for a better life, to have courage and determination. Yes,that's it. I can't change me in the past, I just want to be better in the future.

‘At the end of the day, whether one returns to the past or travels to the future, the present does not change. So it raises the question: just what is the point of that chair?’

But Kazu still goes on believing that, no matter what difficulties people face, they will always have the strength to overcome them. It just takes heart. And if the chair can change someone’s heart, it clearly has its purpose.

But with her cool expression, she will just say, ‘Drink the coffee before it gets cold.’

The present hadn’t changed – but those two people had. Both Kohtake and Hirai returned to the present with a changed heart.
